If They’re Not the Right Fit, Don’t Sell Them Your Affiliate Product!
Never sell products to those you know don’t need them. Not only is it unethical, but it’s guaranteed to ruin your credibility with your customers and could seriously damage your reputation.
If you’re in a business where lead generation is a requirement for selling, spending time ⏳ qualifying the people you approach with your product is so important.
Take me as the example here. I am an affiliate marketer in the online business and personal development space. What I promote is essentially bespoke education and mentorship that enables my target audience to acquire the skills needed to generate an income online. This includes:

What I promote is designed for a specific type of individual, whose goal is to become an entrepreneur but who needs training on how to pursue a business opportunity in their chosen niche.

In order to ensure I’m targeting the right people, this is what I always do:
- I get to know them on a personal level and let them get to know me
- I listen intently to what they have to say
- I determine what their problem is
- I review and carefully analyze their responses to my questions
- I establish if my offer can actually HELP THEM based on what I learn about them (most important)
Always give careful consideration to who your customer is.
Anyone can “flog” a product to anyone – unfortunately we see this happening all the time. But in order to create:
- A truly sustainable business
- Achieve real results, and
- Position your brand as leader
You have to focus hard on who your product can actually help – not who will buy it
